I must say that Decker is currently undergoing lots of changes for the good of the school, and Mrs. Lin should be credited with those changes. She is a true visionary and I think Decker is only going to get better under her leadership.

I currently have one daughter who is attending this school. My older daughter was recently promoted from this school. I have to say that, there are lots of favoritism that goes on with this school. If you are not an active parent who regularly volunteer, your child pays the price. Parents that are involved in PTA, tends to favor children whom parents are actively involve in the organization. We did not move her for the school, we moved here cause we like our neighbors.

Great area and school district. However, I did not feel my child was challenged enough this school year. I think you can have a developmentally appropriate kindergarten program and supposedly Decker does. However, many students in this area have gone to preschool and know a lot about literacy when they started attending Decker. So I would have liked my child to have had a more academically challenging experience in kindergarten. Alot of the times she was bored because she already knew the stuff that was being given to her again.

My son attended Decker from Kindergarten through 5th grade (until we moved to another district), and I never felt there was any time he was not safe. My husband and I were extremely pleased with the school in all areas.

I took my child out of this school after kindergarten. The academics offered are great, but the school was not safe enough for my child to attend.

Decker is a good school. They have experienced teachers and extremly supportive parents. They offer after school programs , such as chess, stockmarket class and debate classes. They also have computers and music. They score very well on the state test.

Decker elementary school has very involved parents in the PTA. Music and Art course are offered throughout the year. They also offer Mad Science classes and chess classes on campus which my son loves.

This is a fabulous school with wonderful teachers. I have three daughters that attend and have had a great variety of teachers that have all worked very hard to make school fun but very educational at the same time. The only major disappointment at this school is the terrible leadership by the principal. Good luck if you have any issue that you have to take to her. I would strongly recommend any of the other schools in the area due to her bad leadership!

Decker is a small town school with great teacher and parent involvement. Despite budget cuts, Decker continues to offer its students enrichment through arts, music and science. Teachers also give ample opportunity for enrichment for gifted students.

Decker is one of 2 elementary schools in Phillips Ranch. Miss Chung, the principal in her second year, is very ambitious and wants the school to improve. There is direct competition with Ranch Hills, which just earned awards this year. PE and field trips are very limited, due to pressure to perform well on tests. Teachers like Mrs. Condon are very dedicated. Decker also has some wonderful volunteers and active PTA.

Both of my children have attended Decker since Kindergarten. They have always received encouragement to be the best and do the best they can. The teachers they have encountered thus far have great skills and are focused on enhancing the students educational experience.

My children have done a phenomenal job at Decker due to the encourangement and committment of the teachers. They foucus on the children and what their needs are. Teachers do not have a problem contacting parents to keep them informed on student problems be it behavioral or academic. When academic problems arise you are informed right away and suggestions are made in order to best handle the situation.

Decker Elementary school needs a New Parent/Student advocate. This may be indicative of many schools, however many of the communications to parents lack specific and clear information due to the fact that the PTA members and boards have been at the school for so long that they have forgotten or do not care how it feels to not know anything. If you, unlike them is bringing your 1st child to the school. Some have been there so long with multiple children attending over the years, that they've forgotten the small but important details and the etiquette to include new and often confused parents and students. The year is ending and we've muddled our way through, but I do hope that this letter will eleviate others from an unclear start.

Decker Elementary School's teachers are overall pretty good but some can learn to be more understanding of their students. As a student here at Decker who is about to graduate, I've had pretty good teachers except for in my last year. Hopefully the school administration will fix this problem soon.

My daughter is in the first grade and is fortunate to have a wonderful teacher Mr. Johnson, who provides a positive learning curriculum for his students. My daughter is excelling in math, reading, comprehension, and writing.

The lack of respect for parents is very upsetting. My child had a change of teacher and class and a letter sent home in a back pack to let us know. I think that they need to work on their respect factor at this school.
