I am visiting Western University in Pomona CA. What is the taxi fare from the LA airport to Pomona?

A taxi is going to be close to $200. You can easily take the Union Station Flyaway shuttle from LAX to Union Station, and then the Metrolink Riverside Line, and get off at the Downtown Pomona Station. The University is walking distance from the station. However, check the Metrolink schedules in advance, since the trains are not very frequent.

Where can I throw my old dishwasher away in Pomona,CA?

Actually, people do come get appliances without being paid. They can strip them down and sell whatever (copper, aluminum or whatever else) and actually make money for doing it, while helping the environment. I had washers and dryers go out, also a water heater and a lot of people were asking for them. Check around. I went on Freecycle.com and found people wanting old appliances that no longer worked.

OBSERVATION Look for and identify potential problems or hazards in the traffic around you - not just straight ahead, but behind you and on either side. Check your mirrors frequently, but be sure to look over your shoulder behind you when changing lanes or backing up. For the events I went to, Electric Christmas and Fxck Yess, they did sell tickets at the door. Those events were rave/clubs, I'm not sure what your event is. Ask around and you should find out.

What are some community colleges in Pomona, CA or really close to the area?

Pomona College is not a community college, rather a regular 4-year, which is reportedly very hard to get into. Try Mt. San Antonio College, in Pomona/Walnut, there's also San Joaquin Valley College, Chaffey College, and there's a few more around the area.
