Stay in Long Beach.. Harbor City is a low incomed neighborhood, who doesn't even have their own police department. They have to contract with the Sherrif's of LA County. How bad is that? It is not a modern looking city.. more industrial and run down than anything else. It borders Torrance, Gardena, Carson, and the 405/110 freeway.

Well I don't know if it is right, but I have always considered Ventura as a suburb of L.A. where there is tons to do. There is an old Franciscan Mission there but I doubt that is going to keep you interested very long...Copestir and Obviousman are quite familiar with the area so maybe they will have some suggestions...All I know about it is they have a nice beach...Good Luck....

It really depends on the venue, there are so many variables. Some venues don't charge a fee for the hall if you use their catering service, this is common in country clubs, hotels, and restaurants. 60 isn't too large, many halls are for 150+ and priced accordingly. Look on the website of restaurants in the area and see if they have a link for Banquets or Parties or something of the sort. Some restaurants that you've been to may have rooms that you're not aware of.
