Contrary to what the previous answerer said, not all white girls are in the West or the OC. Check out Sierra Madre, the Hastings Ranch section of Pasadena, Bradbury, San Marino, or Glendora. The above areas have NO rednecks. I've grown up in and around them. If anything, the OC WASPS are closer to rednecks than anything else. They're just rednecks who dress nicer.

You will not avoid traffic if you try to use side streets. During peak hours when the freeways are congested, the side streets will also be crowded. I have driven this route many times and I know the streets well and it was never faster. And when you travel through unfamiliar roads, it makes the travel time seem alot longer and you run the risk of getting lost.

um... visit the first in n out. there really isn't anything there to do. mostly mexican/hispanics. i suppose that west covina would have more fun stuff for you to do. a lot more restaurants/bars/shopping. baldwin park however is a good location as far as distance from orange county and los angeles, both which are just 30 minutes away.
